CORE & NON-CORE PET VACCINES AND IMMUNIZATIONS:

Pet vaccinations are classified as either core or non-core (also known as lifestyle). Core immunizations are required for all pets, but non-core vaccines are only required if your pet meets certain criteria. A dog who spends a lot of time near other dogs such as boarding and grooming should be vaccinated against bordetella (kennel cough) and canine influenza. A dog that never goes anywhere is not at as high a risk.

Rabies, Canine Distemper Virus, Parvovirus, and Canine Adenovirus are the most important immunizations for pups and adult dogs. Bordetella, Canine Parainfluenza Virus, and Canine Influenza Virus H3N8 are examples of non-core vaccinations.

Core vaccinations for cats and kittens include Rabies, Feline Calicivirus, Feline Herpes Virus, and Feline Leukemia Virus. In some cases, we propose non-core Bordetella, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, and Chlamydia vaccinations for cats.

By asking a series of questions, our team will get to know you, your pet, and your lifestyle. Answering these questions genuinely helps us to develop an immunization schedule that will safeguard your pet.
